Friends of Bonobos

Bonobos are unique. These great apes are peaceful, cooperative, and kind. In bonobo society, females are in charge. We share 98.7% of our DNA with them and in many ways, they represent the best side of human nature! But because of poaching, trafficking and deforestation, they are critically endangered. They need our help now to survive. At Friends of Bonobos, we have a long-term, comprehensive approach to bonobo conservation. We provide rescue and care to bonobo orphans and aim to return as many as are able back to the wild where they belong. We save Congo rainforest where bonobos live and protect rewilded bonobos. We work with communities and government agencies to tackle the root cause of bonobo endangerment - poverty. And we educate and raise awareness for bonobos and their plight locally and globally. Join our effort to invest in a better future for bonobos.
